• Generate a Key Pair: 
  • Go to the Firefox Add-ons page and search for the nos2x-fox add-on. This add-on acts as a secure wallet for your cryptographic keys.
  • Click on the "Add to Firefox" button and follow the prompts to install the extension.
  • After installation, open the nos2x-fox add-on from your browser toolbar.
  • Click on the option to generate a new key pair. This will create a unique public key and private key for your Nostr identity.
  • Important: Save your private key securely, preferably in an external location like a password manager or a physical note. Losing access to your private key means losing access to your Nostr account.

  • Open a new tab and navigate to Iris.to, a user-friendly Nostr client that resembles Twitter.
• Connect the Add-on: 
  • When prompted, connect the nos2x-fox add-on to Iris.to. This step allows the app to request permission to use your keys for posting and interacting on the platform.

• Follow the on-screen instructions to create your profile. You can customize your display name, profile picture, and other settings to personalize your experience.

  • Once your profile is set up, you can start following other users, posting updates, and engaging with content. Iris.to allows you to interact freely without the fear of censorship.
  • Keep in mind, that the platform is not as fast as e.g. Twitter/X due to the decentralized nature. It might take longer to load or post content.
• Manage Permissions: 
  • Each time you want to post or change your settings, the nos2x-fox add-on will prompt you for permission. You can approve these requests for a short period or longer, depending on your preference.
  • This feature ensures that you maintain control over your interactions and data.
• Enjoy Censorship-Free Communication: 
  • With Nostr, you can express yourself without the fear of censorship. The decentralized nature of the platform ensures that your content remains accessible as long as at least one relay is active.

 

5. Adding a Lightning Payment Wallet to Nostr (advanced)
